Paper stock
Coated paper labels
The default choice for almost anything that stays dry and indoors. Coated paper takes print beautifully and costs less than any film, which is why it carries most of the catalogue.
Paper
Use it when
- Retail boxes, cartons and secondary packaging
- Dry goods — biscuits, rice, pasta, cereal, tea
- Toys, stationery and general merchandising
- Anything going into a mailer or a shelf at ambient temperature
Look elsewhere if
- Anything that will be wet — condensation on a fridge, condensation on an ice bucket, or a bottle in a cold cabinet
- Oily contents, where the adhesive can creep
- Long outdoor exposure, where the paper darkens and the print fades

Finishes that work on it
Hot foil, spot UV, embossing and varnish all bond well. Matte lamination is the usual choice for a soft-touch read.

Questions about coated paper labels
Can coated paper go on a chilled bottle?
Not on its own. Condensation is the enemy of paper — specify a film, or laminate heavily and accept a shorter life. If the pack spends its life in a fridge, choose BOPP or PET instead.
Is the paper FSC certified?
FSC-certified grades are available on this stock under our chain-of-custody certificate. We confirm the specific grade on the quotation.
What thickness do you run?
The grade depends on the label size and the print process. We confirm it on the quotation rather than quote a figure that may not suit your pack.
